From The Monday Newspaper (ARG) – Last week, the former head of the Argentine Central Bank, Alberto Samid, spoke on TV and said that the culprit behind inflation is the supermarket. His reasoning was that producers sell an apple to the supermarket for $1 then the supermarket sells it for $10, hence creating inflation. Totally ridiculous. We all know that profit margin has nothing to do with inflation. If the supermarket sold the apple for $100, everything else the same, that would still not be inflation. Luckily, on the studio floor, there was one man who stood up to the former bank chief.
