From Revolutionary Tech Investor (Australia)-
It’s all happening for our drone defence company.
They’re working hard on getting their drone defence technology into the hands of the US Department of Defense. But like any defence-focused company, it’s not an easy or short path to success.
If you’re trying to get your tech in front of the biggest military spenders in the world, what should you do? Play games, that’s what.
In just over two weeks, eight finalists will compete in the MITRE C-UAS (countering unmanned aerial systems) challenge at the Marine Corp base in Quantico, Virginia, US.
This is reserved for the elite of drone defence technology. And our pick is amongst them.
MITRE is a not-for-profit organisation in the US. It operates research and development programs funded by the US government. In explaining the point of the challenge MITRE says,
‘While counter-UAS technologies exist today, they are predominantly focused on large UAS and military scenarios. MITRE is working with multiple Federal agencies to help them understand the safety and security issues presented by small UAS and potential mitigations.’
The upside of this kind of competition is that our pick gets to showcase their technology in front of a number of federal agencies, and there’s US$100,000 up for grabs. Importantly the eight finalists were whittled down from an original pool of 42.
Already that puts the company ahead of a number of other ‘drone defence’ companies that are now hitting the market.
