Harry Hamburg – Exponential Investor (United Kingdom) –
Yep, I know that’s weird.
But something’s about to happen that could change popular opinion of Big Tobacco in a major way.
Yes, most people detest them right now. But in a few years’ time it could be a very different story.
Every so often, events shake up the way we view things – and their financial potential – with good cause.
Generally, people dislike change. It’s a sad fact of human nature. But when something this big disrupts the status quo, despite the usual public resistance, things can improve.
Attitudes. Our way of life. And our health.
This is going to make some people pretty angry. And others ridiculously rich.
So I make no apologies. I wouldn’t be doing my job right if I didn’t tell you about the most lucrative opportunities around today.
In that sense, the sector and any controversy surrounding it is kind of irrelevant.
Contentious… but lucrative
So let me tell you a bit about tobacco.
For 115 years, returns from Big Tobacco beat the market average by 16,300%. But these days, far fewer young people smoke.
You’d think this would spell the beginning of the end for the tobacco empire. But are they quaking in their boots?
Hell, no. Companies with that kind of business nous aren’t just going to fall by the wayside.
They’ve been planning their next big move for over 50 years. And you’ve got to hand it to them – it’s a good’un.
The memo below, from September 1969, is from Dr Alfred Burger – supervisor of tobacco giant Philip Morris’ research on “Organic Chemistry Related to Nicotine”. It’s addressed to Dr Robert Ikeda, manager of Chemical and Biological Research at the Philip Morris lab. It says:
The company that will bring out the first [new] smoking devices, be it a cigarette or some other form, will capture the market. I want to suggest, therefore, that you institute immediately a research program on all phases of [the new product].
Nixon’s “War on Drugs” put the brakes on for a while in the 1970s, but now the leash is off. And the plans are ON.
Over the coming year, a new form of smoking will surface that could actually be good for your health.
This is an entirely new market. A pivot so dramatic, smoking may even be included as part of government health guidelines.
And one so influential, experts in-the-know reckon this’ll be a multi-billion-dollar industry.
Tobacco gets a facelift
Imagine a form of smoking that supplements your diet like a vitamin, kills pain, speeds up sports recovery, and helps prevent you from getting ill.
If it was proven, and government-approved, who wouldn’t want it?
Now if your bullshit button is beeping, get these two facts:
- Most of us don’t have this particular thing in our lives right now. That causes a deficiency that’s linked to migraines, fibromyalgia, IBS, and other diseases related to the immune system and inflammation.
- Even Oxford University acknowledges it’s fundamentally important in the development and function of the nervous system.
So, it doesn’t even come down to a tug of war between morals and money. The world just has to get over its preconceived bias.
And most probably will when they see the bounty on offer.
Think of the kind of impact a product like that would have on the markets.
Right. A veritable wealth explosion.
So if you’re still on the fence, I’m going to whet your appetite
Big time bucks
Experts believe that the global market could eventually reach $270 billion. I’ll put that into perspective for you:
- The diabetes devices market is expected to reach around $35 billion by 2024.
- Cancer drugs already top the scales at £121 billion.
- HIV treatments came in at $19 billion in 2013.
So this new global market could be worth more than all drugs sold for diabetes, cancer and HIV.
While you pick your jaw off the floor, let me tell you something else.
It’s happening, soon
Like, really soon.
Like, check-this-out-this-very-minute-or-kick-yourself-forever kind of soon.
Because there are actually two fundamental catalysts here. I’ve told you one of them.
There’s another vital movement at work, which swings into action in just a couple of months.
It’s why some multinational tobacco companies are scrambling to get their ducks in a row, right now.
I’m not going to tell you what it is here – you’ll need to click the link below to find out about that.
But I do want you to know that it could change the face of the world. And if you’re quick – your fortunes.
Because with Big Tobacco behind it, this will be huge.
And you have to admire them –it takes immense power and foresight to turn the tides and create a new wave of wealth like this.
So before you get on the moral high ground, do yourself a favour – make sure you check this out.
Until next time,
